Our Team
Hope for Humanity, Inc, formed in 2004, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of the Internal Revenue Code, headquartered in the State of Virginia, U.S.A. Our organization is dedicated to growing the educational opportunities for South Sudanese youth.
We believe the most effective way to overcome poverty and the near 80% illiteracy rate in South Sudan, both destructive outcomes of war , is to provide people with the ability to build their lives, communities, country, and world through education.
Our mission is to equip South Sudan’s girls and boys for leadership through a quality education with a Christian foundation.
Executive Director Hope for Humanity, Inc. Executive Director, Suzanne M. Wright (Hicks), M.Div. possesses a unique combination of professional experiences in marketing as well as ministry experiences. Her business back- ground, a strong faith, and a desire to live the gospel through mission work are a great fit for Hope for Humanity, Inc.’s mission. Suzanne holds degrees in history, religion, and patient counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Divinity degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary. |

Hope and Resurrection Secondary School Advocate Awut Mayom Agok, served at Hope and Resurrection Secondary School Administrator from 2018 until March of 2024. Awut Mayom Agok is a B.Comm. university graduate and a 2011 graduate of Hope and Resurrection Secondary School who returned to Atiaba and the school after graduating from university. She is a highly respected woman in the world, South Sudan, and the community. She is the first woman to hold the position of School Administrator in the Lakes State of South Sudan and is now serving a Minister of Education in South Sudan's Warrap State. She is an excellent administrator, advocate for women's empowerment and girl's education, and role model for South Sudanese girls and women. | Hope and Resurrection Secondary School Assistant Director of Education The Rev. Thon Bec Ater is a 2012 graduate of Hope and Resurrection Secondary School who returned to Atiaba and the school after university studies in Uganda. He is a biology and Christian education teacher at the school. He volunteers his time to the community to mentor and educate young children and encouraging them to study hard and continue their education. He also helps to promote and start small business and agriculture in the area. |
