Deborah Alek Majok was a strong role model at Hope and Resurrection School.  She had excellent grades and demonstrated the potential of young women’s abilities as strong leaders and advocates of peace in the world.  This hard work earned her a university scholarship under the African Scholarship and ICCR programs to study Civil Engineering at Jawaharla Nehru Technological University in Andra Pradersh, India.

In 2019, while studying at university, Deborah wrote these words words to Hope for Humanity, Inc. directors and donors.

Words can't express my gratitude to Hope for Humanity, Inc. The school you gave to the community of Atiaba has opened the eyes of the people to know the benefits of education.  They have molded us into future leaders, and I believe that God always had his plan of helping South Sudan as a nation.  Words can't still express my excitement, but I ask God to bless you and continue supporting the young ones in Atiaba.

Your love, care and kindness is highly appreciated.

THE CALL By Deborah Alek Majok

I speak for all

And I call upon all

To stop all

That causes all

Into the drain of conflict and war!

I call upon all

To stop all

That is morally ill;

Sexual immorality, pregnancies, cattle rustling,

Revenge, greed for power, greed for wealth, corruption

Ethenicism, nepotism and all illisms,

Those have brought conflict into play!

I call upon all, to come altogether

To table,

To become all brothers and sisters,

Let us forgive and love each other for peace to prevail.
